Calvi, (also called " the granary of Corsica ") is capital of Corsica's Balagne region and straddles the coast between sea and mountains. Opposite the citadel that dominates the port, the pine forest lined sandy beach extends over 10 km, stretching to the point of Spanu which marks the boundary with the open sea.
